Join us on this relaxing tour to beautiful Yorkshire and allow us to show you this region from two trains, a canal boat, and from the comfort of your luxury coach. We include a full day guided tour through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, before boarding the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway for more wonderful dales scenery. Next day step back into a bygone era with a journey on a steam train from Embsay to Bolton Abbey. Spend time in the market town of Skipton before taking a relaxing canal guided cruise. Our last day will be spent in historic York, where you will have free time to explore at leisure.

Itinerary

Day 1

Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Belfast for the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Cairnryan, we continue our journey to Harrogate with comfort stops en-route before arriving at your hotel late afternoon.

Day 2

This morning after breakfast enjoy the morning free in Harrogate to discover the delightful spa town with its glorious Edwardian architecture, Turkish Baths with plunge pools and steam rooms, fine shopping mall, walk through Valley Gardens – and don’t forget to stop for refreshments at Betty’s famous tea rooms!. Later join your coach for a visit to the cathedral city of Ripon before stopping at the Black Sheep Brewery for a guided tour and tastings. Afterward re-join your coach and make your way back to your hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast join your coach, full steam ahead to the ‘Gateway to the Dales’. Today is Skipton Market day located near the Castle ramparts, and next to the canal enjoy some time to explore. Afterwards, board the Embsay steam train for a nostalgic journey through the Dales countryside, alighting at Bolton Abbey. The day continues with a magnificent drive across the fells with time free to roam the cobbled streets of Grassington before making the journey back to your hotel in Harrogate.

Day 4

Depart after breakfast travel to York to spend the day in the walled riverside city with its quaint historical charm, cobbled streets and huddled houses which have hardly changed since the 14th century. Browse the medieval shopping streets of Stonegate and The Shambles or take the road train from outside the Railway Museum to the gothic splendour of York Minster. Later meet the coach and return to Harrogate via Tadcaster and Wetherby.

Day 5

This morning after breakfast and checking out, depart the hotel for our return journey making a stop off in the magical market town of Hawes, home to Wensleydale Cheese and the Dales Museum. Later we make our way back to Cairnryan to join the early evening ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
