Eighty years ago, on the 6^{th of} June 1944, allied forces stormed beaches along the Normandy Coast. Join us as we explore the historic region around Caen, visiting Utah, Juno, Omaha, and gold beaches that were witness to the valour of those who fought. Explore the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise and Pegasus Bridge – names steeped in the history of the D-Day landings.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point. Sit back and relax as we travel south towards Dublin Port. Once onboard the ferry you will be allocated your cabin, and you are free to use the facilities onboard.

DAY 2

On arrival in Cherbourg, at 11.30am, and after clearing Border checks continue your journey to Caen and your hotel for the next two nights. En-route to your hotel in Caen we will stop at St Mere Eglise and after lunch visit Utah Beach and Museum. Later in the day arrive in Caen, check-in and enjoy the rest of the evening free to relax at your hotel, or to make the tram ride into the centre of Caen for a choice of restaurants and bars.

DAY 3

After breakfast, depart for Pegasus Bridge and the memorials to the 6th Parachute Regiment. Visit Cafe Gondree – reported to be the first house liberated on D-Day. Visit the Merville Battery and Ranville Cemetery before arriving at the British Normandy Memorial. Return to your hotel later in the day

DAY 4

After breakfast a relaxing day and the opportunity to explore Caen. Your coach will make the short journey to the ‘must visit’ Caen Memorial. Visit the museum at your own pace, and later have free time to explore the city of Caen.

DAY 5

After breakfast, depart your hotel and visit the American Cemetery, overlooking Omaha Beach, and onward to Pointe Du Hoc. Travel on to Cherbourg Port to join the afternoon crossing back to Dublin.

DAY 6

Arrive in Dublin at 11:15am. Depart the ship and travel north returning, back to your departure point mid-afternoon.
