This tour allows you time to explore England’s south coast with a comfortable mix of touring and free time in the elegant resort of Eastbourne. During your holiday you will travel onboard the Bluebell Railway, visit Brighton, and experience the South Downs National Park, with visits to the impressive Beachy Head, and historic towns of Lewes and Alfriston. You will also have ample time to explore the seaside resort of Eastbourne with your hotel located on the seafront. On your final day you will visit Royal Windsor enroute to the airport.

Itinerary

Day 1

On arrival at Belfast City Airport, please make your way to the Aer Lingus check-in area to meet your Travel Solutions tour manager. Once you have checked-in and received your boarding passes proceed through security to your departure gate. On arrival at London Heathrow Airport, meet your tour manager at the baggage reclaim area. Board your coach as we travel to our hotel in Eastbourne for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring Eastbourne, stroll along the lively Pier, or visit the world famous Carpet Gardens, situated on the Grand Parade – a fantastic display of beauty and colour. Enjoy a coffee in one of the many restaurants overlooking the busy marina.

Day 2

After breakfast, join your coach as we drive into the South Downs National Park. Heading through the town of Midhurst and head West, enjoying views of the beautiful woodlands and open grassy plains of the National Park. We reach Petersfield, a quaint market-town where we can obtain lunch right in the heart of the South Downs National Park. The town has a variety of local shops, as well as a museum and art gallery, well worth a visit! Later on, we continue to Stansted Park Garden Centre where we have a chance to explore the centre and look at its variety of flowers, gifts, and other items. There is also a Farm Shop and Cafe on-site, as well as a Pavilion Tearoom very close by. Later re-join your coach as we continue the journey back to your hotel in Eastbourne.

Day 3

Today we’ll depart after breakfast to spend the whole day in cosmopolitan Brighton, don’t miss the exotic Royal Pavilion with its Indian domes, minarets and Chinese style interior (payable locally). The historic ‘lanes’ shopping area, a maze of twisting alleyways with quirky little shops are a joy to wander round, and for the bravest of you, dare to take one of the thrilling rides on the Pleasure Pier. We’ll follow the coastal road on the way back and stop off to admire the dramatic views from Beachy Head at the top of the iconic white chalk cliffs. Later meet your coach and make your way back to your hotel.

Day 4

This morning after a leisurely breakfast, enjoy some free time in Eastbourne before joining your coach to travel to the Bluebell Railway. A highlight of our tour as we board the famous Bluebell Railway through the delightful Sussex countryside. This heritage line runs between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead, and was one of the first preserved standard gauge steam-operated passenger railway in the country to operate a public service. The first train ran in 1960 and the experience will take you back to a bygone era. Afterwards re-join your coach and make your way back to your hotel.

Day 5

This morning after breakfast and checking out, join your coach as we travel to visit Royal Windsor – enjoy some time to explore the town, its rich history, quaint boutiques and shops, and the oldest and largest inhabited castle. Late afternoon re-join your coach and travel to London Heathrow for your return flight home to Belfast.
