For this tour, we are based not far from Chester, at the Beaufort Park Hotel, Mold with three contrasting days out. A visit to scenic Dee Valley and Llangollen – a day in historic Chester itself, and a day out to the Wirral Peninsula and Liverpool for a boat trip on the River Mersey.

The Beaufort Park Hotel is situated near the market town of Mold and is an ideal base for our tour. You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome. Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Dublin Port for the early morning ferry crossing to Holyhead. On arrival in Holyhead, we travel to visit the cathedral city of Bangor, the oldest city in Wales, combining fascinating history with a modern vibe. Afterwards, rejoin your coach as we continue the journey to our hotel near Mold, arriving late afternoon. Check in, relax, and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

After breakfast, join your coach (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) as we drive through the pleasant countryside to Chester. Spend the day in the historic city exploring all it has to see and do. Explore the unique ‘Rows’ of two-tiered shops or take a stroll around the City Walls and meander down to the River Dee. Later, we enjoy a 30-minute sightseeing cruise with commentary about the local area and its history. Late afternoon, rejoin your coach and return to your hotel to relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 3

This morning, after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), join your coach as we travel around the Wirral coast via Hoylake, with its famous golf courses, and through the tunnel into Liverpool. We spend the morning here, and you have time to explore this fascinating city. Visit the Albert Dock complex with its many attractions, including the Beatles Story; see the magnificent cathedrals; or just wander around the city. Here we include a boat trip on the river Mersey. This afternoon we travel through the Mersey Tunnel to Port Sunlight, where we visit Sunlight Vision. Enjoy a guided tour of Port Sunlight Village, built by William Hesketh Lever for his factory workers and named after his famous Sunlight soap. Discover how the village was planned with the happiness of his workers uppermost and visit the gift shop. This is a superb example of how life used to be. Afterwards return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 4

After breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), join your coach as you take a trip through some lovely Welsh scenery. Including the spectacular Horseshoe Pass, to the Dee Valley, where we join the Rheilfford Llangollen Railway for a journey on a nostalgic train. We also take a ride on the ‘Stream in the’Sky’—the Llangollen Canal—gliding gently over the country’s biggest navigable viaduct. Afterwards, rejoin your coach and return to your hotel to relax before dinner.

DAY 5

This morning, after a leisurely breakfast and checking out (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), all too soon our trip is over, and it’s time to join your coach for the journey home, making our way to Holyhead with a comfort stop en route before joining the early afternoon ferry crossing to Dublin Port. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
