Join us as we explore the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and visit some of the counties most treasured towns and cities.  The delightful Spa town of Harrogate is the base for our Yorkshire tour.   Enjoy some free time in Harrogate, visit the famous Skipton Market, Cathedral City of Ripon, enjoy a guided tour and tasting at the Black Sheep Brewery, and take a glorious steam train journey through the Dales. Spend the day in historic York, its quaint cobbled streets, and the glorious York Minster.

This splendid 19th-century hotel is situated in Harrogate. It is next to the Harrogate International Centre, and 10 minutes’ walk from Betty’s Tea Rooms.

Itinerary

DAY 1:

Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Belfast for the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan.   On arrival in Cairnryan, we continue our journey to Harrogate with comfort stops en-route before arriving at your hotel late afternoon.

 

DAY 2:

This morning after breakfast enjoy the morning free in Harrogate to discover the delightful spa town with its glorious Edwardian architecture, Turkish Baths with plunge pools and steam rooms, fine shopping mall, walk through Valley Gardens – and don’t forget to stop for refreshments at Betty’s famous tea rooms!.  Later join your coach (departure point and time will be confirmed by your tour manager) for a visit to the cathedral city of Ripon before stopping at the Black Sheep Brewery for a guided tour and tastings.  Afterward re-join your coach and make your way back to your hotel.

 

DAY 3:

After breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) join your coach, full steam ahead to the ‘Gateway to the Dales’.  Today is Skipton Market day located near the Castle ramparts, and next to the cancel enjoy some time to explore.  Afterwards, board the Embsay steam train for a nostalgic journey through the Dales countryside, alighting at Bolton Abbey.  The day continues with a magnificent drive across the fells with time free to roam the cobbled streets of Grassington before making the journey back to your hotel in Harrogate.

 

DAY 4:

Depart after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) travel to York to spend the day in the walled riverside city with its quaint historical charm, cobbled streets and huddled houses which have hardly changed since the 14th century.  Browse the medieval shopping streets of Stonegate and The Shambles or take the road train from outside the Railway Museum to the gothic splendour of York Minster.   Later meet the coach (departure point and time will be confirmed by your tour manager) and return to Harrogate via Tadcaster and Wetherbyurney back to your hotel.

 

DAY 5:

This morning after breakfast and checking out (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), depart the hotel for our return journey making a stop off in the magical market town of Hawes, home to Wensleydale Cheese and the Dales Museum.  Later we make our way back to Cairnryan to join the early evening ferry crossing to Belfast.  On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
