Join us on this 4-night tour discovering the many delights of Staffordshire. Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel located near Stroke-on-Trent. Staffordshire boasts beautiful open countryside and many fabulous attractions which we will visit during the tour. Admire the delightful gardens on the vast Trentham Estate, visit two preserved and restored railways the Rudyard Lake Railway and Foxfield Light Railway, visit the National Trust owned Little Moreton Hall, The National Memorial Arboretum and the City of Lichfield.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Dublin for the morning ferry crossing to Holyhead. On arrival in Holyhead, we continue our journey to our hotel near Stoke-on-Trent making a stop in Chester for some free time before arriving at your hotel late afternoon. On arrival at the Hilton Garden Inn Stoke-on-Trent Hotel check-in and relax, freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

This morning after breakfast join your coach as we start the day with a drive to the beautiful Cathedral City of Lichfield, set in a remarkable and serene close. Over 800 years old the building is the third on the site and is well worth a visit. Enjoy some time to explore the city at leisure before visiting the National Memorial Ardboretum at Alrewas. Later re-join your coach and travel back to your hotel.

DAY 3

After breakfast join your coach as we travel to the National Trust owned Little Moreton Hall, near Congleton. The Hall, surrounded by a moat and set in a small pretty garden, has had a chequered history. In danger of falling over it is as intriguing as it is wonky! A rare chapel and topsy- turvy long gallery and early wallpaper ensure the ‘wow’ factor at this iconic Tudor treasure. This afternoon we have a visit to Rudyard Lake where we enjoy a 3-mile return train ride on the miniature railway along the Lake. Afterwards re-join your coach and travel back to your hotel.

DAY 4

Depart after breakfast, join your coach as we travel to visit the award-winning Trentham Gardens. Enjoy a visit to the shopping village, with shops, café, restaurants, and the vast Trentham Garden Centre. Take some time to explore at leisure before we head for Blyth Bridge and the Foxfield Light Railway. Originally used to carry coal from Foxfield Colliery, closed in 1965, the line is now very popular for steam trips into the countryside to Dilhorn Park. Later re-join your coach and travel back to your hotel.

DAY 5

This morning after breakfast and checking out, join your coach to travel back to Holyhead with a comfort stop en-route before joining the afternoon ferry to Dublin. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
