Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Belfast for the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Cairnryan, we continue our journey to our hotel in Hartlepool with a stop at the Gretna Gateway Outlet Village en-route before arriving at your hotel late afternoon. Check-in, relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

This morning after a leisurely breakfast, we visit Hartlepool’s Historic Quay – a faithful reproduction of an 18th-century seaport portraying the exciting experience of life in the times of Nelson and Trafalgar. The centrepiece is the HMS Trincomalee – Europe’s oldest floating warship. You’ll also find the museum of Hartlepool and PSS Wingfield Castle all included in the Maritime Experience ticket. Later in the afternoon we enjoy a cream tea at the hotel and relax before tonight’s dinner.

DAY 3

After breakfast today, join your coach as we head for the Yorkshire Coast and the pretty town of Whitby, taking in the scenery of the North York Moors along the way. This ancient port, made famous by Bram Stoker’s Dracula, has a fascinating history, a ruined abbey, and a working harbour. We visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and learn more about the famous explorer’s connection to the town. You’ll have free time to explore the cobbled streets, perhaps climb up to the abbey, or even try their famous fish and chips for lunch! Afterwards re-join your coach and return to your hotel.

DAY 4

Following breakfast and check-out, we will begin our journey home as we travel to visit Carlisle to enjoy some free time to explore the border town packed with history and heritage aplenty with its Castle and Cathedral. Early afternoon we will depart Carlisle and make our way to the port of Cairnryan to join the evening ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
