DAY 1
Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Belfast for the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. Upon arrival, we’ll head to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, where you’ll have some free time to explore. With its captivating mix of top attractions, impressive architecture, and rich industrial heritage, Glasgow has something for everyone. Later in the afternoon, re-join your coach (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) and continue the journey to the Loch Tummel Hotel. After checking in, take some time to relax and freshen up before dinner.
DAY 2
After breakfast today (your tour manager will confirm the exact time of departure), board your coach and head to Blair Castle, the historic home of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl and situated in the centre of Highland Perthshire. Stories to be found here include visits by Bonnie Prince Charlie and Mary Queen of Scots, making this castle unique among Scottish castles. Highlights include the Victorian Ballroom, which is adorned with 175 pairs of antlers, the Entrance Hall, which is adorned with Battle of Culloden weapons, and the magnificent State Dining Room, which is brimming with Scottish cultural history, period furnishings, and exquisite artworks. Afterwards enjoy some free time in Pitlochry, one of Scotland‘s most beautiful and vibrant places to visit. In the heart of Scotland with real hospitality, clear sparkling air, beautiful scenery, rich clan history, fine food, plenty of space and lots to see and do before stopping at Queen’s View to take in the breath-taking view of the surroundings before returning to your hotel to relax before dinner.
DAY 3
Join us for an exciting day trip to visit Scone Palace the original home of the legendary Stone of Destiny, which was used to crown the ancient Kings of Scotland. It contains a superb collection of French furniture, delicate China and valuable treasures. With over 1000 years of history, it is now home to the Earls of Mansfield, and, inside the palace, you can admire the needlework skills of Mary Queen of Scots and see the State Rooms where Queen Victoria was entertained on her way to the Highlands. The palace also offers stunning formal gardens including a working kitchen garden and maze. You will have time to explore both the fascinating history of the palace and the beauty of the gardens. In the afternoon, we continue to Perth on the River Tay. Perth was one of the ancient capitals of Scotland between the 9th and 15th centuries. It was where Scotland’s monarchs were once crowned. Explore the busy high street with its mix of shops or sit and watch the world go by at a riverside cafe. There is also Perth Museum which showcases artifacts from Scottish history including the Stone of Destiny which has been returned to Scotland after 700 years. Mid-afternoon, re-join your coach and return to the hotel to relax and get ready for dinner.
DAY 4
Today we depart after breakfast to spend the morning at Glamis Castle, the family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne. Also, the home of Queen Elizabeth II’s grandparents, she spent many happy childhood holidays here. It is also the legendary setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth! This afternoon, we visit Dundee. The 4th largest city in Scotland, it is located on the Tay estuary. Famous for ship building, the waterfront area has been transformed and is now home to the V&A Dundee dedicated to design museum, which is worth a visit in your free time. Afterwards re-join your coach and travel back to your hotel.
DAY 5
Start your day with a leisurely breakfast before checking out of your hotel (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager). Travel to visit the incredible city of Stirling, also known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’. This city is situated at the point where lowland Scotland and the Highlands meet. While there, take the time to explore the Old Town and the Victorian Stirling Arcade, the castle (payable locally) and make sure to visit the National Wallace Monument. Afterward, hop back on your coach as we stop to visit the Battle of Bannockburn Experience, which puts you at the heart of the action so you can discover more about this crucial event in Scottish history before making our journey back to the hotel.
DAY 6
This morning after breakfast and checking out (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), bid farewell to Loch Tummel as we make our way back to the port of Cairnryan with a comfort stop en-route before joining the afternoon ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
