Christmas comes early on a Turkey & Tinsel break! Join us for some Festive fun and really get in the festive spirit in Scotland. Staying at the Tinto hotel, a small country house full of warmth and character. The hotel offers good food, three nights entertainment and a few drinks on us! The hotel is a perfect base to explore many of Scotland’s popular cities and attractions. During the tour visit Dumfries House, Stirling, The Kelpies, The National Wallace Monument, Edinburgh and enjoy an Edinburgh City tour by coach.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point and travel to Belfast to join the late morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Cairnryan, we’ll travel to our hotel in Symington. On arrival at the hotel check-in and enjoy some time to relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

This morning after breakfast (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager) join your coach to travel to Edinburgh. Firstly, we will enjoy a city tour by coach before enjoying some free time to explore the city and the Christmas Markets at leisure. Edinburgh is one of the best places to be during the festive season – wander the cobbled streets and take in the sounds of laughter and sights of twinkling lights from the stalls or enjoy a drink in front of a roaring log fire in one of the many cosy pubs. Enjoy the great shopping, unbeatable festive atmosphere, and iconic views from the top of the Big Wheel. Have a go on the old-fashioned carousel in Princes Street Gardens, browse the stalls in search of that perfect Christmas gift or just soak up the buckets of atmosphere. Later meet your coach (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager) and make your way back to your hotel.

DAY 3

Today after breakfast (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager) join your coach as we travel to visit Dumfries house, one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes. Set in 2,000 acres, this stunning Estate and house has something for everyone. The house is beautifully decorated for the Christmas season, admire the decorations as you enjoy a festive house tour followed by tea/coffee and mince pies. Afterwards we will travel to visit the Robbie Burns Centre at Ayr. Visit the shop, café and gardens at leisure (if you wish to visit the museum entrance payable locally) Re-join your coach to travel back to your hotel. Relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 4

This morning after breakfast (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager) join your coach as we drive to visit The Kelpies. See the world’s largest pair of equine sculptures, standing 30 metres tall. The Kelpies stand majestically above all around them and pay homage to the working horses of Scotland which used to pull barges along Scotland’s canals and worked in the fields in the area where they now stand. Afterward travel to visit the impressive city of Stirling known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’, situated at the point where lowland Scotland and the highlands meet. Enjoy some time to explore the Old Town, see the castle or the Victorian Stirling Arcade. Finally, we will visit the National Wallace Monument (if you wish to climb the monument entrance payable locally) Stirling’s famous landmark stands above the fields where William Wallace led his troops to victory at The Battle of Stirling Bridge and tells the story of the patriot and martyr who became Scotland’s National Hero. Afterwards re-join your coach and return to your hotel in Symington. Relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 5

This morning enjoy a leisurely farewell breakfast before checking out (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager), join your coach as we travel to the port of Cairnryan with a comfort stop en-route before joining the afternoon ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original starting point.
