Show Tickets are allocated on an elevated stand, and you will be required to climb a number of steps to your seat.  Coaches are not allowed up near the Castle arena during the Tattoo, so passengers will have to walk to and from the coach pick-up and set-down area (this will also involve having to climb a number of steps).

It is 7 miles from Glasgow city centre and the M77 motorway can be reached in less than 15 minutes by car. The Holiday Inn's Health & Fitness Club has a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and fitness suite. Guests can also take advantage of the on-site bar and restaurant. The hotel is just over 2 miles from East Kilbride Shopping Centre and is less than 5 miles from Hampden Park, Scotland’s national football stadium.

  • The transfer time from your Hotel to the Edinburgh Tattoo is approximately 1 hour depending on traffic
  • Due to event restrictions, coaches cannot drop off or collect passengers directly at the Castle arena. A moderate walk is required to and from the designated coach area.
  • Show tickets are allocated on an elevated stand, you will be required to climb a number of steps to your seat. This tour is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. There is a short but steeply inclined walk up Castlehill, the old cobbled approach to the Esplanade. There is then a further 60-metre walk on average, followed by 98 steps up to the spectator stands where generally, the seating is quite steeply tiered. Wheelchairs can be sited at ground level (subject to availability) and disabled toilets are available on the Esplanade.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival and Glasgow Begin your journey by meeting your coach at your chosen pick-up point and setting off for Belfast Port to board the early morning ferry to Scotland. Upon arrival in Cairnryan, continue your journey to Glasgow, one of Scotland’s most vibrant and dynamic cities. Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring Glasgow’s rich industrial heritage, stunning architecture, and a wide variety of top attractions. From world-class museums to stylish shopping districts and lively cafes, there’s plenty to discover in this cultural hub. Later in the afternoon, rejoin your coach (departure time to be confirmed by your Tour Manager) and travel to your hotel in East Kilbride. Check in, relax, and freshen up before enjoying a welcoming dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 Edinburgh & The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo After breakfast, depart the hotel for a day visit to Scotland’s historic capital, Edinburgh (departure time will be confirmed by your Tour Manager). To start the day, we embark on a city tour by foot and coach with, a knowledgeable local guide. Then, enjoy some time to explore the city at your own pace. Admire the contrasting Old Town and New Town, stroll down the Royal Mile, The Palace of Holyrood House or relax in Princess Gardens—the choice is all yours! In the early evening, rejoin your coach (exact time and pick-up point will be advised by your Tour Manager) for the short transfer to the world-famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo early evening performance starting at 18.15 pm.

Tattoo Tickets will be distributed on the coach by your Tour Manager.

After the performance, travel back to your hotel in East Kilbride.

Day 3 Departure After a relaxed breakfast and check-out from the hotel (departure time will be advised by your Tour Manager), board your coach and say goodbye to East Kilbride as you journey to Cairnryan Port. There, you’ll board the afternoon ferry back to Belfast. Upon arrival, you will return to your original pick-up point, bringing your Scottish adventure to a close.
