Itinerary
Day 1 Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point. Sit back and relax as you travel southeast to Co. Wexford with a comfort stop en route before arriving late afternoon at the Riverside Park Hotel for check-in, with time to relax and freshen up before dinner.
Day 2 This morning we depart after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager). Join your coach as we travel to New Ross, a town steeped in history, where we will visit the Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience. Afterwards we travel to visit Kilkenny, Ireland’s medieval capital, and enjoy some free time to explore the city and its attractions, including Medieval Mile Museum, Rothe House, Smithwick’s Experience, St. Canice’s Cathedral, and the Round Tower. Mid-afternoon, rejoin your coach (departure time and point will be confirmed by your tour manager) as we travel back to the hotel for dinner.
Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager). We’ll depart the hotel to visit Enniscorthy Castle and The National 1798 Centre. Enniscorthy Castle is in the heart of Enniscorthy town, was originally built in the 13th century, and has been ‘home to Norman knights, English armies, Irish rebels, and prisoners and local merchant families. At the National 1978 Rebellion Centre, you will meet the key figures of the Rebellion. Afterwards return to your hotel to relax before dinner.
Day 4 Today, after breakfast, join your coach (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) as we travel to visit one of the oldest intact operational lighthouses in the world, namely Hook Lighthouse. Purpose-built 800 years ago by Knight William Marshal, take a step back in time and enjoy a guided tour hearing tales of mediaeval times and life as a light keeper. Take in the spectacular view from the balcony with miles of sea rolling out before you. Enjoy the visitor centre with a gift shop, exhibits, and café. Afterwards, join your coach as we travel to visit Johnstown Castle, one of Ireland’s most charming castles. The castle is Wexford’s greatest surviving country estate and is a significant building of national importance. Late afternoon, rejoin your coach (departure time and point will be confirmed by your tour manager) and travel back to your hotel in Enniscorthy.
Day 5 This morning, after breakfast and checking out (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), join your coach for the journey home, stopping to visit the Lullymore Heritage and Discovery Park before rejoining your coach returning to your original joining point early evening.
