After the cruise, enjoy some free time in Ambleside to explore at your own pace perhaps browse the local shops or enjoy a caf  lunch. Later, rejoin your coach as we journey back to Kendal via the heart of the Lake District National Park. Along the way, we’ll stop in the charming towns of Bowness and Windermere for a chance to stretch your legs and take in more of the region’s beauty. We return to the hotel in time to relax before dinner.

Day 3: Kendal and Sizergh Castle and Gardens Today after breakfast (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager) enjoy some time in Kendal, Kendal is a wonderful place, with characterful yards full of shops and delightful cafes, restaurants, and pubs. There are museums, one of the best art galleries outside London, lovely river walks and much, much more.  After lunch time join your coach as you travel the short distance to visit the beautiful medieval house with rich gardens and estate of Sizergh Castle and Gardens Sizergh Castle a stately home with garden and estate about 4 miles south of Kendal. Late afternoon re-join your coach (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager) and make your way back to your hotel.

Day 4:  Departure and Lowther Castle and Gardens This morning after breakfast and checking out (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager),  bid farewell to Kendal as you join your coach,  we make our journey back to the port of Cairnryan stopping en-route to visit Lowther Castle and Gardens.  One of the many treasures waiting to be discovered in the English Lake District, Lowther Castle is a particular gem. Built at the turn of the 19th century on the site of two previous houses, the castle was a grand affair boasting a room for every day of the year. Its gardens were the envy of the north. But in 1957 the castle was demolished. Just the fa ade and outer walls remained standing and for over half a century, the place was empty – home only to chickens, pigs, and the odd bat. The gardens were lost to wilderness.  Today Lowther Castle is one of the most intriguing visitor attractions in the country. Dramatic ruins, gardens within gardens, an adventure playground to rival the best in the land.  Afterwards re-join your coach as we continue the journey to the port of Cairnryan to join the evening ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
