Borovets
Borovets is one of the largest and oldest ski resorts in Bulgaria. Huddled amid the century old pine forests on the Northern slopes of the Musala ridge – the resort is in the eastern part of the Rila Mountain. At night the village offers a great choice of restaurants, bars and nightclubs to suit everyone’s taste – all located a few-minutes’ walk from your hotel.

Borovets is one of Bulgaria’s largest and oldest ski resorts, nestled amid century-old pine forests on the northern slopes of the Musala Ridge in the eastern Rila Mountain. The village offers a vibrant nightlife with a variety of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, all within a few minutes’ walk from your hotel. Known for its fantastic nightlife, the main nightclubs are located in the Rila and Samokov hotels, offering a cosy atmosphere and great value for money.
Visitors can enjoy excursions to Sofia or Plovdiv, or embark on a Skidoo Safari. The village center has plenty of shops, stalls, and kiosks, with Hotel Rila and Samokov offering ski wear, clothes, and souvenirs.
While night skiing is not included in your ski pack, you can experience the thrill of skiing down Borovets’ illuminated slopes, which range in difficulty from green to black and can be purchased at the resort.

The Borovets ski resort features three interconnected ski areas—Sitnyakovo, Yastrebets, and Markudjik—linked by a gondola lift, modern chairlifts, and button lifts. As one of the largest ski resorts in Bulgaria, Borovets boasts a rich history spanning over 120 years.
Starting from the expansive Rila hotel complex and charming village center, the Martinovi Baraki Express chairlift ascends to slopes suitable for all skill levels, offering diverse options for skiing and snowboarding. Borovets provides a multitude of exciting winter sports activities, including alpine skiing, snowboarding, freestyle, cross-country skiing, biathlon, ski jumping, and scenic winter hikes. The ski slopes are blanketed in snow from December until April.
