The Westlodge hotel is set amid 26 acres of landscaped gardens, on the edge of Bantry town, overlooking Bantry Bay, in scenic West Cork. The hotel is the perfect base for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. The hotels Leisure Centre boasts a state-of-the-art gym, squash court, pool, sauna, steam room & jacuzzi. The hotel offers a fine restaurant, a fully licenced bar and free Wi-Fi. The Westlodge has been an intrinsic part of Bantry for over half a century. Itinerary
Day 1 Meet your coach at your selected departure point and settle in for a scenic journey south. Enjoy comfort stops along the way before arriving in the late afternoon at the Westlodge Hotel, Bantry – your home for the next four nights. Take some time to relax, explore the hotel’s beautiful surroundings, or unwind in the leisure centre before dinner.
Day 2 After breakfast (departure time confirmed by your Tour Manager), travel to the charming village of Glengarriff, where ocean, river, and ancient oak forest converge. From here, enjoy a scenic boat trip across Bantry Bay to the renowned Garnish Island – famous for its Italian-style gardens and rare plants, thriving thanks to the area’s unique microclimate. Later, visit the elegant heritage town of Kenmare, beautifully situated at the head of Kenmare Bay, before returning to your hotel for the evening.
Day 3 Following breakfast, join your coach for a full-day guided tour of the spectacular Beara Peninsula. Jutting into the Atlantic, Beara offers some of Ireland’s most dramatic and unspoiled scenery – from rugged coastlines and sweeping valleys to mystical stone circles and quaint fishing villages. In the afternoon, return to Bantry for free time to explore the town’s shops, waterfront, or local cafés before heading back to the hotel to relax ahead of dinner.
Day 4 After breakfast, set off to explore the stunning Kilmore Peninsula, travelling toward the iconic Mizen Head – Ireland’s most southwesterly point. Experience the thrill of crossing the suspension footbridge high above the Atlantic gorge, and visit the award-winning Mizen Signal Station, a former lighthouse keeper’s station with breathtaking sea views. Enjoy lunch in the scenic coastal village of Schull, set beneath Mount Gabriel, then continue to the magnificent Bantry House & Gardens – an 18th-century stately home overlooking Bantry Bay. Return to your hotel for your final evening in West Cork.
Day 5 After breakfast and check-out (departure time confirmed by your Tour Manager), board your coach for the return journey home. Comfort stops will be made en-route as you reflect on your memorable West Cork adventure.
