Itinerary

Day 1 Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point and travel to Belfast to join the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Cairnryan, we’ll travel to Glasgow for some free time to explore the city before continuing the journey alongside the shores of Loch Lomond and over the rugged and desolate Rannoch Moor to arrive at our hotel in Fort William late in the afternoon. Check in, relax, and freshen up before dinner.

Day 2 Today, after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), enjoy some free time in Fort William before boarding the Scotrail train to Mallaig described as the greatest railway journey in the world, partly due to the 46 miles of spellbinding scenery and, for the major part, it took part in the Harry Potter productions. Glide past beautiful views of lochs, mountains, famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, and the Isles of Eigg, Much, and Rum. In Mallaig, enjoy some free time to explore this Highland fishing town before rejoining your coach. The road journey back in your coach is very different from the rail journey, where we’ll make some stops en-route, firstly with a photo stop at Glenfinnan to see Bonnie Prince Charlie’s monument at the head of Loch Shiel and the massive viaduct. Finally, Neptune’s Staircases in Banavie, a series of eight lock gates on the Caledonian Canal, before arriving back at our hotel.

Day 3 This morning after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), the first stop for today will be to enjoy a 50-minute cruise of Loch Ness. Sit back, relax, and take it all in as you enjoy the beauty of Loch Ness in all its wonder. The cruise is the perfect way to experience the sights, wildlife, and history of the famous loch. Then we’ll travel to visit bustling Inverness, the ‘capital’ of the Highlands—a vibrant and modern city at the top of the Great Glen. We’ll round the day off with a visit to the Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre. The visitor center offers a 360-degree battle immersion theater that puts you right in the heart of the action, allowing you to experience the powerful emotions of the battle. You can also explore the accredited museum that displays weapons and unique artifacts from the battle and learn about the true story of the 1745 Rising from both the Jacobite and government perspectives. Enjoy some time to explore the visitors center, café, and shop before rejoining your coach to make the journey back to your hotel in Fort William.

Day 4 Today after breakfast, join your coach as we travel to spend the day visiting Scone Palace and Gardens: The Crowning Place of Scottish Kings. Stunning state rooms to visit in the palace, which is set in 100 acres of grounds with Pinetum, Moot Hill, Murray Star Maze, Kitchen Gardens, Plant Nursery, Adventure Playground, Coffee Shop, and Gift & Food Shops. There’s so much to see and do for a memorable day out. A warm welcome awaits you. Afterwards, rejoin your coach as we make the journey back to our hotel, stopping en route to visit the charming town of Pitlochry.

Day 5 This morning after breakfast and checking out (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), say farewell to Fortwilliam as we make our journey back to Cairnryan, stopping en route to visit Glencoe Visitors Centre and then Loch Lomond Shores. Loch Lomond Shores is a stunning 5-star-rated visitor destination set on the southern tip of Loch Lomond that offers something for everyone. You can shop, eat, and play all day in this beautiful setting. Shop—our stores are a range of high street names and small boutique local stores that offer everything from fashion to homeware. Big brands and unique local crafts are all available. Eat—a range of restaurants and cafes means that whether you want an ice cream, coffee & cake, or a gourmet lunch with cocktails, you can enjoy it at Loch Lomond Shores. Afterwards, rejoin your coach and continue the journey to the port of Cairnryan to join the evening ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you will return to your original joining point.
