Day 1 – Arrival & Athens On arrival at Dublin Airport Terminal 1, make your way to the Ryanair check-in desk area before proceeding through security to your departure gate. On arrival in Athens, after collecting your luggage, make your own way to your 4* pre-cruise accommodation in Athens for a great nights’ sleep before embarking on your NCL Viva Cruise adventure.

Day 2 – Athens & Board Norwegian Viva Check out of your hotel and make your way to Athens cruise terminal where your cabin on the Norwegian Viva awaits. Once onboard explore the ship and all it has to offer. Why not take the opportunity to book any excursions or Broadway shows you may like to do during the week. (Any NCL excursions booked are at an additional cost)

Day 3 – Thessaloniki, Greece Touring the impressive historic sites of Thessaloniki is akin to rolling back history to the times of sweeping empires, mighty fortresses and imposing palaces. Dating back to 315 BC, the city is considered the cultural hub of Greece. Weaved in amongst the ancient ruins are vibrant streets lined with a diverse selection of delicious restaurants, boutique shops, popular festivals and beautiful beaches and scenic views of the sea. Whether you’re looking to dive into the region’s storied past, explore the modern-day culture or soak in its natural beauty, Thessaloniki truly offers something for everyone.

Day 4 – Izmir (Ephesus), Turkey Archaeologically rich, historic Izmir dates back over 5,000 years. Virtually rebuilt from scratch in 1922, Izmir is a booming city today. The ancient city of Ephesus, home to the Artemis Temple and the Zeus Altar, is one of the world’s best preserved archaeological sites.

Day 5 + 6 – Istanbul, Turkey There’s a new aura of excitement in Istanbul these days, as this centre of the Ottoman empire has become one the world’s focal points for art, fashion, haute cuisine and nightlife. Of course there’s always an abundance of ancient monuments and grand mosques with stunning frescoes to see here, like the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Head to any park and you’ll see why tulips have long been the symbol of this city.

Day 7 – Mykonos, Greece Mykonos is a classic Greek Island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and windmills. Add a reputation for beautiful beaches and you’ll understand why Mykonos is the most popular island in the Cyclades. Explore the island in a 4 x 4 or take a ferry to the tiny island of Delos.

Day 8 – Santorini, Greece Whitewashed villages clinging to the sides of the sea cliffs have made the volcanic island of Santorini one of the most widely photographed places in the world. The island’s charm and subtle mystery have even made it a target of speculation as the location of the lost city of Atlantis.

Day 9 – Rhodes, Greece This Greek island just off the coast of Turkey exudes beauty and history. Take a walking tour of the old fortified city and stand in awe of the impressive Grand Master’s Palace. See where the Colossus of Rhodes, a onetime Wonder of the World, once stood and savour the charm of this remarkable walled town. Along the scenic coast lies the whitewashed town of Lindos with its ancient acropolis and stunning views.

Day 10 – Heraklion (Crete), Greece Although it’s on the Greek Island of Crete, Heraklion offers a wealth of Venetian architecture from their rule in the 13th century, including magnificent fortified walls. Don’t miss the Minoan Palace of Knosos Knossos, immortalized in Greek Mythology by the legend of the Minotaur.

Day 11 – Disembark NCL Viva & Departure All too soon you find yourself back in Athens. Please do not leave luggage outside cabin on the last evening.  Disembark the ship make your own way back to Athens airport for your return flight to Dublin.
