Join us as we explore the spectacular scenery of County Galway and the wild beauty of Connemara. Staying at the Flannery’s Hotel Galway located only a 5 minutes’ drive from Eyre Square. Tour the West of Ireland, spend some free time in Galway City – the European Capital of Culture 2020. Enjoy its cobbled streets, historical attractions and wide range of restaurants and pubs. Visit Kylemore Abbey, the picturesque monastic home of the Irish Benedictine nuns, famous for its miniature cathedral, Victorian walled gardens, and gothic church. Enjoy a cruise on the Killary Fjord Boat Tours and admire the unspoilt splendour of The Killary – Ireland’s only fjord. You may even be lucky enough to meet the resident pod of Dolphins (if they feel like playing on the day!)

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point. Sit back and relax as we make our way to Galway, we’ll stop off at the beautiful town of Athlone, rich in history and culture and has something for everyone. Why not take a walk along the River Shannon, explore the castle, enjoy the fine dining, or visit the many shops before continuing the journey arriving late afternoon at the Flannery’s Hotel for check-in, with time to freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

This morning after breakfast, enjoy the day in Galway City. To start the day, enjoy a 2-hour city tour by coach and walking. This is the best way to explore & experience Galway City. Your knowledgeable local Tour Guide will show you the History and Culture of this Vibrant Medieval ” City of the Tribes”. During the tour gain an insight into what Galway is all about. Your guide will captivate you with stories of Galway past and present all delivered in an engaging and often humorous way. Afterwards explore Galway at leisure maybe visit the winding lanes of the Latin Quarter which are bursting at the seams with cosy little pubs alive with music. Spend some time wandering around the city and uncover its best kept secrets. Treat yourself to pure Irish ice cream at Cafe Linnalla looking over stunning views of Galway Bay.

DAY 3

After breakfast join your coach and enjoy a full day tour of Connemara National Park, one of the wildest and most beautiful regions in Ireland. Sit back and relax, admire the stunning scenery as we tour Connemara and visit Kylemore Abbey, the picturesque monastic home of the Irish Benedictine nuns, famous for its miniature cathedral, Victorian walled gardens, and gothic church. Late afternoon re-join your coach and travel back to your hotel.

DAY 4

Today after breakfast join your coach as we travel to Leenane to join the Killary Fjord Boat Tour – Ireland’s only Fjord. Enjoy a 90-minute cruise on board an all-weather luxury catamaran. Cruise the 14km inlet of the Killary Fjord and enjoy panoramic views of Connemara. Admire some of the finest scenery in the West of Ireland.

DAY 5

This morning after a leisurely breakfast and checking out, join your coach and travel to visit Belvedere House and Gardens located outside Mullingar town. This 18^th century estate with fully restored Georgian House, Victorian Walled Gardens and 160-acre lakeside estate. Famous for the numerous romantic follies in the grounds including the jealous wall. Afterwards enjoy some free time in Mullingar before re-joining your coach to make the return journey returning you to your original joining point.
