Day 1

On arrival at Belfast City Airport, please make your way to the Aer Lingus check-in area to meet your Travel Solutions tour manager. On arrival at London Heathrow, meet your tour manager at the baggage reclaim area.  Board your coach and travel to the historic market town of Bedford,   located on the banks of the beautiful River Great Ouse. Bedford offers something that many other towns can’t, with undercover shopping malls, winding back streets filled with treasures, and a great deal of history and character. Later in the afternoon you will re-join your coach and travel to your hotel in Cambridge for check-in.

Day 2

After breakfast join your coach for a guided morning tour of Cambridge – a truly idyllic place to explore.  The university dates back to 1209.  See many of the 31 majestic college buildings. Watch the world go by in the historic marketplace and see punting on the River Cam.  Visit nearby historic Fenland city of Ely, home of Oliver Cromwell with its magnificent 11th century cathedral.

Day 3

Today after breakfast travel to Bletchley Park – the world’s largest display of enigma machines, created by mathematical geniuses which helped shorten the course of WW2, as well as the founders for the modern day computer.  Hear stories of spies, explore war time huts, the Japanese challenge, the Home Front Exhibition and the Churchill exhibition.

Day 4

After breakfast we depart the hotel and make our way to visit the best-preserved Battle of Britain fighter airfield.  Historic WW2 buildings sit alongside striking exhibition halls housing the finest collection of tanks, military vehicles, artillery and over 200 aircraft.  Afterwards we tour round rural Essex stopping off in medieval Thaxted, with its famous Guildhall and the idyllic village of Finchingfield – one of England’s most photographed villages.

Day 5

This morning after breakfast and check-out travel to Royal Windsor.  Enjoy some time to explore the town, its rich history, quaint boutiques and shops, and the world’s oldest and largest inhabited castle.  Mid-afternoon meet the coach and travel to London Heathrow for our return flight home to Belfast.
