Eighty years ago, on the 6^th June 1944, allied forces stormed beaches along the Normandy Coast. Join us as we explore the historic region around Caen, visiting Utah, Juno, Omaha and Gold beaches that were witness to the valour of those who fought. Explore the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise and Pegasus Bridge – names steeped in the history of the D-Day landings.

Itinerary

DAY 1:

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point. Sit back and relax as we travel south towards Rosslare with comfort stops en-route. Once onboard the ferry you will be allocated your cabin and you are free to use the facilities onboard Stena Vision.

DAY 2:

On arrival in Cherbourg, you will travel directly to Utah Beach allowing time to explore the surrounding area. Later in the afternoon, and en-route to your hotel you will visit La Cambe – the largest German War Cemetery in Normandy. Arriving at your hotel early evening for check-in and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

DAY 3:

After breakfast, depart for Pegasus Bridge and the memorials to the 6th Parachute Regiment. Visit Cafe Gondree – reported to be the first house liberated on D-Day.

Later, visit Juno and Gold Beaches and memorials to the Canadian and British who lost their lives during the 2nd World War.

Arrive back at your hotel late afternoon and evening free.

DAY 4:

After breakfast, depart for Vierville Sur Mer and drive along Omaha Beach before arriving at the American Cemetery. Later in the day visit Pointe Du Hoc and Sainte-Mere-Eglise and the Airbourne museum where you will enjoy a self-guided tour before rejoining your coach to continue the journey arriving at Cherbourg Port to join your ferry home.

DAY 5:

Arrive in Rosslare at lunchtime, and travel north, arriving back at your departure point early evening.
