At Crianlarich station, we board the Scotrail train, which travels via the Pass of Brander and by Loch Etive on its way to Oban. Explore stunning Perthshire, take a tour and sip a few drinks at the Glenturret distillery, spend some time in Fort William, and make a stop at the Glencoe Visitors Centre. The Best Western Crianlarich Hotel is located in the village of Crianlarich, on the outskirts of Perthshire’s picturesque Breadalbane area.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Belfast for the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Cairnryan, we travel to Glasgow to enjoy some free time to explore the city. Glasgow is rich with industrial heritage, striking architecture and a brilliant mix of top attractions, there are hundreds of amazing things to see and do in this city. Mid-afternoon, re-join your coach (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) and continue the journey to our hotel in Crianlarich. On arrival at the Crianlarich hotel check-in, relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

Today after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) we join the Scotrail train at Crianlarich station for the ride to Oban. The line takes us through the Pass of Brander and alongside Loch Etive. Oban is the major port for the Western Isles ferries and the harbour is a hive of activity. The town has a level seafront backed by a wooded escarpment, with the skyline dominated by McCaigs Folly, resembling the Coliseum in Rome. Enjoy some free time to explore Oban before we catch the return train back to Crianlarich.

DAY 3

Today after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) join your coach as we explore Perthshire. Head along Glen Dochart to Killin, with the Falls of Dochart rushing through the village. From here we drive along Loch Tay to Aberfeldy, where we will stop for a lunch break. This afternoon we head south along the Sma’ Glen to Crieff. Here we visit the Glenturret Distillery for a tour and a wee dram. Our return takes us along Loch Earn and Glen Ogle back to our hotel in Crianlarich.

DAY 4

This morning after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) join your coach as we depart to travel across the wild and desolate Rannoch Moor to Fort William, passing through some of the most inhospitable country in Scotland, with spectacular scenery and lonely lochs. We have time to explore this popular town before we are on our way south alongside Loch Linnhe to Ballachulish and Loch Leven. The Glencoe Visitor Centre is our afternoon break and here you can learn all about the feuding clans and the infamous massacre. We return to our hotel over Rannoch Moor to Crianlarich.

DAY 5

This morning after a leisurely breakfast and checking out (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), we make our journey back to Cairnryan with comfort stop en-route before joining the afternoon crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
