Come along with us on an adventure to discover the wonders of County Clare and the West of Ireland. The base for our tour is the Treacy’s West County Hotel near Ennis, one of the most renowned hotels in the Shannon and Clare Region. Located on the edge of Ennis, Ireland’s Tidiest Large Town and a Gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way. You’ll be whisked off to some of the most breathtaking sights in the region, like the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher and the Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum. We’ll also explore the majestic Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, the tranquil Vandeleur Walled Garden, and take a tour of the captivating Burren. And let’s not forget about spending some free time in the charming towns of Adare and Ennis! With so much to see and do, this tour promises to be a truly unforgettable experience.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point. We’ll travel towards County Clare making comfort stops en-route. Arriving late afternoon at the Treacy’s West County hotel. On arrival check-in and relax before dinner.

DAY 2

Today join your coach as we head to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Step back in time this morning exploring the many halls and chambers of medieval Bunratty Castle, and continue to the Folk Park, made up of a collection of farmhouses from different regions of Ireland and a 19th century village street, including pub, school, and general store where traditional lifestyles and crafts are demonstrated. Afterwards spend some time in the town of Ennis, where you will have time to relax and explore at your own pace before you meet your coach (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) to travel the short distance back to your hotel.

DAY 3

After Breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) join your coach as we head to visit The Vandeleur Walled Garden and visitor centre in Kilrush. Discover the enchanted garden hidden behind the mighty and beautiful old stone walls and visit the interpretive centre to get a glimpse into the past through exhibits and take a guided tour of the garden to see a variety of trees, plants, and unusual garden features. Travel to Killimer to take the short 20-minute ferry ride to Tarbert. On arrival in Tarbet travel to visit the Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum the only dedicated flying boat museum in the world where there is an opportunity to step on board a full-size replica flying boat and it allows you to Walk in the Footsteps of Pioneering Aviators and Hollywood Icons in the Birthplace of Irish Coffee. We continue the journey onto visit the quaint village of Adare to enjoy admiring the thatched roof cottages on the main street before rejoining your coach and returning to your hotel near Ennis.

DAY 4

Embark on an Adventure to the Cliffs of Moher and Beyond!. After breakfast this morning (exact departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), hop on the coach, and make your way to the stunning Cliffs of Moher. This is where you’ll witness the incredible power of nature in its purest and most untamed form. Listen to the birds chirping, breathe in the salty air, and feel the ancient rocks beneath your feet as you gaze out at the mighty ocean. This is the most breathtaking natural wonder in Ireland that you won’t want to miss. Next, we’ll take a tour of the Burren and travel through Lisdoonvarna before visiting the charming village of Kilfenora. On our way back to the hotel, we’ll make a stop in the historic town of Ennistymon to relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 5

This morning after breakfast and checking out (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), we bid farewell to County Clare and join the coach for the journey home. On the way we’ll stop off at the beautiful town of Athlone, rich in history and culture there is something for everyone to enjoy in Athlone. From touring the castle (payable locally), enjoying the fine dining, or visiting the many shops. Re-join your coach to continue the journey before returning to our original joining point.
