All aboard! Join us for a thrilling three-night adventure to Yorkshire! We’ll be staying at the Cedar Court Hotel Bradford, which is perfectly located for touring West Yorkshire. During the tour we will travel on not one but two fantastic rail journeys. First, we’ll embark on a return journey on the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway before we visit the highlight of the tour the historical Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, which is famous for its scenic views of heather-covered moors and windy landscapes that were featured in the beloved film, The Railway Children. Join us on a trip to the picturesque village of Haworth, retracing the steps of Bobbie, Phyllis, and Peter. Here, you will discover many familiar locations from the series, including the cobbled main street and visit the Bronte Parsonage Museum. We’ll also visit the Bolton Priory and stop at the famous Betty’s tearooms in Ilkley. So, hop aboard as we celebrate one of Britain’s best-loved railways!

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Belfast for the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Cairnryan, we continue our journey to our hotel in Bradford with a stop at the Gretna Gateway Outlet Village en-route before arriving at your hotel late afternoon. Check-in, relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

This morning after breakfast, join your coach as we drive north of the village of Bolton Abbey where we will explore the Bolton Priory. Ruins of a 12^th-century Augustinian monastery was one of the ones ordered by King Henry the VIII to be dissolved in 1539. Following this we will board the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway for a return journey. Settle back in the beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages and enjoy a unique view of some of Yorkshire’s finest countryside. In the afternoon we make our way to the former spa town of Ilkley. Where we will visit the famous Betty’s Tearooms to enjoy tasty delights with a £30 per person voucher to spend either to enjoy while there or take home. We then journey back to the hotel travelling over Ilkley Moor to view the ‘Cow and Calf’ a unique rock formation.

DAY 3

After breakfast today, join your coach for the highlight of the tour a journey on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway the “Railway Children Line.” We will board a steam train for a leisurely ride along the line making stops along the way including Oakworth Station, which has been restored in the Edwardian style and was made famous in the film. After our train journey ends, we explore the town of Haworth, making a visit to the Bronte Parsonage Museum. This location features in scenes within the film. Afterwards re-join your coach and return to your hotel.

DAY 4

Following breakfast and check-out, we will begin our journey home, making comfort stops en-route to Cairnryan Port before joining the early evening ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
