Join us as we tour Scotland visiting the beautiful Isle of Bute, Loch Fyne and Inverary. Admire the wonderful Scottish scenery, visit many famous attractions, and enjoy the tranquil calm of the Isle of Bute. The base for our tour is the lovely Scottish town of Dunoon, staying at the Argyll Hotel. Dunoon is impressively situated on the western of the Fifth of Clyde where Loch Long and Holy Loch join the sea, it is built around the historic Castle Mound and is most famous for its large Victorian pier. The stunning town boasts some lovely gardens, two bays, and a flat promenade – perfect for that most traditional of seaside occupations, strolling along the prom! The highlights of this tour is a visit to Inverary Castle and Mount Stuart House.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point and travel to Belfast Port to join the early morning sailing to Scotland. On arrival in Cairnryan we travel to our hotel in Dunoon with a comfort stop en-route before crossing via the Gourock ferry. On arrival check-in to your hotel, relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

Today after breakfast enjoy the day to explore your new surroundings in Dunoon. Make your way into the town – a pleasant walk along the promenade, discover all it has to offer and relax and watch the world go by.

DAY 3

After breakfast join your coach for a spectacular sightseeing tour today. We visit the lovely little, white-washed town of Inveraray. There is time for a look around the town before our afternoon visit to magnificent, unique, and fascinating Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll (Featured in Downton Abbey as Duneagle Castle). In addition to this, the castle’s beautifully maintained garden and expansive estate offers some fantastic, beautiful walks. Afterwards re-join your coach and return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 4

This morning after breakfast, join your coach as we head on a sightseeing drive around Bute, after crossing by ferry from Colintrave to Rhubodach, ending with a visit to the superb Mount Stuart House. Set in 300 acres of landscape and woodlands, the house is known as Britain’s most spectacular Victorian Gothic House. It is an architectural fantasy of the 3rd Marquis of Bute. Set 5 miles south from Rothesay this is an ideal way to end the tour, the house and grounds offer the visitor much to see. Afterwards re-join your coach and return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 5

This morning after breakfast and checking out, bid farewell to Dunoon as we make our way to catch the ferry back to Gourock before continuing the journey back to the port of Cairnryan with a comfort stop en-route before joining the afternoon ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
