The Stunning Angus Coastline

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point and travel to Belfast Port to join the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan.  On arrival in Cairnryan we travel visit Glasgow for some free time to explore the city.  Glasgow is rich with industrial heritage, striking architecture and a brilliant mix of top attractions, there are hundreds of amazing things to see and do in this city.  Late afternoon re-join your coach and continue the journey to your hotel near Montrose.  Arriving early afternoon, check-in and take time to explore Montrose or relax before dinner.

DAY 2

Explore the Best of Scotland’s Castles: Glamis Castle and Gardens.  After breakfast, embark on a journey to discover the most magnificent castle in Scotland – Glamis Castle and Gardens. This award-winning attraction boasts a rich history dating back to 1372, full of myths and legends that you’re sure to enjoy. Glamis was the beloved childhood home of the late HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.  Be awestruck by the castle’s stunning architecture and the breath-taking beauty of its surrounding grounds and gardens. Then we’ll travel to the charming town of Pitlochry, one of Scotland’s most beautiful and vibrant places to visit to enjoy some free time to explore at leisure.  Afterwards re-join your coach as we return to the hotel to relax before dinner.

DAY 3

After breakfast join your coach as we travel to the fascinating city of Aberdeen, located on the Northeast coast of Scotland, also known as one of the country’s sunniest cities.  Take some time at leisure to explore the many attractions within the city, including fascinating museums, inspiring art galleries and brilliant shopping opportunities.   Aberdeen is rich in history from its maritime past. It’s where the harbour meets the city centre and is famous for its stunning architecture and ancient charm. It’s also known as the ‘Granite City’ and is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Aberdeenshire, with its forests, mountains and attractive coastline.  In the afternoon visit the Gordon Highlanders Museum, telling the extraordinary 200-year-old story of the ‘Finest Regiment in the World’.  Re-join your coach as we return to our hotel in Montrose.

DAY 4

Today after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) join your coach as we visit nearby city of Brechin with its ancient cathedral and 11th century tower.  Brechin Museum depicts the city’s 2000-year history.  Afterwards travel to Dundee to enjoy some free time in Dundee – the ‘City of Discovery with a visit to the hugely acclaimed Victoria and Albert Museum.  Enjoy general museum access as you explore the permanent collection in the Scottish Design Galleries on a self-guided basis, as well as enjoy the other temporary exhibitions that are on display (If your wish to visit any of the other exhibition on display these will be payable locally.)  Finishing with a coastal drive stopping at the golf town of Carnoustie and the seaside resort of Arbroath, home to the famous ‘Smokies’ and Abbey dating back to 1300.  Later we return to our hotel to relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 5

Start your day with a leisurely breakfast, before checking out of your hotel, board your coach as we travel to visit the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies.  Later we make our way to Cairnryan Port to join the evening ferry crossing to Belfast.  On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
