Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point and travel to Belfast to join the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Scotland, we continue our journey towards Newcastle with a stop at the Gretna Gateway Outlet Village for some free time before arriving at your hotel late afternoon. Check-in, relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

This morning after breakfast, join your coach as we travel to visit Hexham, one of the best market towns in the UK. Explore the town at leisure with many attractions – Sele Park, Hexham House or Hexham Abbey. On our way to Alnwick Castle, we will stop off at Hadrians Wall for photos before spending the afternoon at 700-year-old Alnwick Castle. See the lavish state rooms, drawing room, dining room and the 400-year-old library with 16,000 books. Roam the 26-acre garden with elaborate water features and Poison Garden. Later you will meet your coach for the journey back to your hotel.

DAY 3

After breakfast, depart to travel the short distance into Newcastle. Known as a major shipbuilding and manufacturing hub during the industrial revolution Newcastle has become a centre for business, culture, arts and science. Meet your local guide for a guided tour of the city who will show you the sites and tell the tales of Newcastle, famous for its industrial heritage, brown ale, and ‘Geordie’ dialect. Afterwards enjoy some free time to explore the city and its culture for yourself. Later you will meet your coach and return to your hotel to relax before dinner.

DAY 4

This morning after breakfast, we depart for a coastal tour. Northumbria is a county that lies within its own borders – a unique and beautiful place with its cuisine, tradition and lilting tongue. The coastal trail passes Brendall Bay and along the costal road to the popular fishing village of Seahouses, where stalls ell the freshest of seafood. Continue along the coastline to Bamburgh with free time for lunch. Take a walk on the golden beach or visit impress Bamburgh Castle. A must see is te Holy Island of Lindisfarne – access is across the 2 mile causeway (tides permitting). Not only is the island the cradle of Christianity, but also a breathtakingly beautiful isle to stroll round with several cafes and characterful pubs to enjoy a drink in before travelling back to your hotel.

DAY 5

This morning after breakfast and checking out, bid farewell to Newcastle as we make our way back to the port of Cairnryan with a comfort stop en-route before joining the afternoon ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
