This tour includes a nostalgic train ride on the Wensleydale Railway, visit the magnificent Harewood House and enjoy a relaxing canal cruise with afternoon tea in the market town of Skipton. Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Belfast for the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Cairnryan, we continue our journey to Harrogate with a stop at the Gretna Outlet Village en-route before arriving at your hotel late afternoon.

DAY 2

This morning after breakfast, enjoy the morning free in Harrogate to discover the delightful spa town with its glorious Edwardian architecture, Turkish Baths with plunge pools and steam rooms, fine shopping mall, walk through Valley Gardens – and don’t forget to stop for refreshments at Betty’s famous tea rooms! Later join your coach to visit the magnificent Harewood House ‘The Jewel in Yorkshire’s Crown’, with entrance to both the house, majestic staterooms and the 100 acres of glorious gardens. Afterward re-join your coach and make your way back to your hotel.

DAY 3

After breakfast join your coach as we enjoy a scenic tour through the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, passing picturesque villages such as Grassington and Kettlewell, castles, waterfalls with ‘wall to wall ‘scenery all the way. Enjoy a stop at Aysgarth falls, before boarding the remarkable Wensleydale steam railway at Leyburn for 14 miles of glorious scenery to Leeming Bar. Afterwards re-join your coach and return to your hotel as we travel through North Yorkshire passing Masham and Ripon en-route.

DAY 4

Depart after breakfast travel to the ‘Gateway to the Dales’ Skipton is a beautiful market town full of Yorkshire character. From its castle, its canal, and its traditional cobbled streets it has plenty to offer any visitor. After some free time exploring, enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Leeds and Liverpool canal accompanied by a sumptuous afternoon tea. Afterwards travel to Howarth, home to the Bronte family and where the Bronte’s wrote most of their famous works including ‘Wuthering Heights’ and ‘Jane Eyre’ before returning to your hotel in Harrogate.

DAY 5

This morning after breakfast and checking out, depart the hotel for our return journey making a stop off in the magical market town of Hawes, home to Wensleydale Cheese and the Dales Museum. Later we make our way back to Cairnryan to join the early evening ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
