Visit the York Chocolate Story and enjoy a guided tour where your informative and engaging guide will take you through 4,000 years of chocolate history. Discover how chocolate came to York and why it earned the nickname “Chocolate City.” The City of York is home to chocolate royalty such as Nestle, Rowntree and Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Take a combined tour of York by coach and walking which will give you a sense of what York was and is like. Travel to visit the coastal seaside resort of Scarborough, one of the oldest in Britain. There is lots to be discovered at this popular gem of a resort on the Yorkshire coast. The busy harbour is haven to fishing vessels and the steep hill sides are beautifully landscaped. The resort is noted for its theatres and there is an art gallery and several small museums. Visit Lincoln a city packed with history and heritage, take a city tour by coach that takes in views of the Waterfront, the Cultural Quarter, and the Cathedral Quarter. The tour normally concludes with a short walking tour into the heart of uphill historic Lincoln.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected joining point and travel to Belfast for the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Cairnryan, we continue our journey to our hotel with comfort stops en-route before arriving at your hotel late afternoon. Check-in, relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

This morning after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), join your coach as we travel into the City of York. We start the day with a visit to the York ‘Chocolate Story Experience’. The tour will last approx. 60-75 minutes and is a guided experience through 4000 years of chocolate history. Your tour guide will take you on a journey of York’s confectionary past and present where you’ll discover the stories of those who pioneered the chocolate industry, from its exotic origins in the rainforests of central America to the cobbled streets of Yorkshire. You’ll discover interesting facts about iconic brands such as Kit Kat and Aero and learn how to taste chocolate like a true Chocolatier, indulging in numerous chocolate samples hand-crafted by our on-site chocolatiers. The experience will finish with a hands-on chocolate experience, crafting and personalising your very own chocolate lolly with a selection of chocolate toppings before watching a live demonstration from one of our chocolatiers. Afterwards enjoy some free time in York before joining your York City tour a combined tour by coach and walking which will give you a sense of what York was and is like. Later re-join your coach and return to your hotel to relax before dinner.

DAY 3

Experience the Oldest Seaside Resort in Britain on a Day Trip to Scarborough. Join us for an exciting day out! We’ll depart after breakfast (with departure time confirmed by your tour manager) and travel to the picturesque town of Scarborough. Once you arrive, take your time to explore the area at your own pace. This town has something for everyone, from its astonishing cliff-top views and lively harbour to its ancient castle. Stroll along the colourful seafront, marvel at the striking Victorian architecture, and discover the charming Old Town’s delightful restaurants, boutiques, and independent shops. Take advantage of the town’s amusements and bask in the serene atmosphere. After a day of fun and adventure, we’ll return to the hotel. Sit back, relax, and cherish your wonderful experience.

DAY 4

Explore the Beautiful City of Lincoln. Join us today after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) as we venture south over the Humber Bridge to reach the historic City of Lincoln. Take a 40-minute city tour by coach that takes in views of the Waterfront, the Cultural Quarter, and the Cathedral Quarter. The tour normally concludes with a short walking tour into the heart of uphill historic Lincoln. Afterwards take your time to explore the city at your own pace, the old town is a maze of charming alleyways and unique shops, with plenty of tea rooms to stop by and refresh yourself

DAY 5

Following breakfast and check-out (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), we will begin our journey home, making comfort stops enroute to Cairnryan Port before joining the early evening ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
