Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point and travel to Belfast to join the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Scotland, we continue our journey towards Penrith with a stop at the Gretna Gateway Outlet Village for some free time before re-joining your coach to continue the journey to your hotel near Penrith arriving late afternoon. Check-in relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

Today after breakfast join your coach as we travel to spend the morning in the pretty market town of Keswick with free time to explore. Why not discover the fascinating history of an everyday item at the Derwent Pencil Museum (entry fee applies) or visit the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery (entry fee applies) where local artefacts are displayed. In the afternoon travel to Pooley Bridge to Board the steamer for a one-hour cruise on beautiful Lake Ullswater, the second largest Lake in the Lake District. Afterward re-join your coach and return to your hotel to relax before dinner.

DAY 3

This morning after breakfast, join your coach for a full day tour of the lakes, sit back and relax as we travel through the Lake District National Park admiring the stunning scenery as we travel. Enjoy some free time in Grasmere before joining a lake cruise from Ambleside to Bowness. Afterwards visit Bowness and Windermere before returning to our hotel.

DAY 4

After breakfast join your coach as we travel to visit Lowther Castle and Gardens. One of the many treasures waiting to be discovered in the English Lake District, Lowther Castle is a particular gem. Built at the turn of the 19th century on the site of two previous houses, the castle was a grand affair boasting a room for every day of the year. Its gardens were the envy of the north. But in 1957 the castle was demolished. Just the façade and outer walls remained standing and for over half a century, the place was empty – home only to chickens, pigs and the odd bat. The gardens were lost to wilderness. Today Lowther Castle is one of the most intriguing visitor attractions in the country. Dramatic ruins, gardens within gardens, an adventure playground to rival the best in the land.

Afterwards travel to visit Carlisle to enjoy some free time to explore the border town packed with history and heritage aplenty with its Castle and Cathedral. Later re-join your coach and make your way back to your hotel.

DAY 5

This morning after a leisurely breakfast and checking out, say farewell to the Lake District as you join your coach to make the return journey to the port of Cairnryan with a comfort stop enroute before joining the afternoon ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
