Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point and travel to Belfast to join the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Scotland, we continue our journey towards the Lake District with a stop at the Gretna Gateway Outlet Village for some free time before arriving at your hotel in Newcastle late afternoon. On arrival at hotel check-in, relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

After breakfast, spend the day in Newcastle. Known as a major shipbuilding and manufacturing hub during the industrial revolution Newcastle has become a centre for business, culture, arts and science. Meet your local guide for a guided tour of the city who will show you the sites and tell the tales of Newcastle, famous for its industrial heritage, brown ale, and ‘Geordie’ dialect. Afterwards enjoy some free time to explore the city and its culture for yourself.

DAY 3

This morning after breakfast join your coach as we drive to the historic city of Durham. Well known for its huge cathedral which is overlooking the rest of the city and its beautiful cityscape. This morning join your guide for a walking tour of the city before spending the rest of the day at leisure exploring the city. Mid-afternoon re-join your coach and travel back to your hotel to relax before dinner.

DAY 4

Today after breakfast join your coach as we travel to Beamish. Step into the past at Beamish a world-famous open-air museum, capturing the spirit of the Northeast in the 1800’s and 1900’s. This award-winning museum has many Northeast tales to tell! Visitors to the museum meet costumed folk and discover fascinating stories of everyday life in the region through time. Attractions include restored tram and replica bus rides, old fashioned sweet shop, working farm, steam locomotives, go down the mine and much more. Mid-afternoon re-join your coach and travel back to your hotel to relax before dinner.

DAY 5

This morning after breakfast and checking out, bid farewell to Newcastle as we make our way back to the port of Cairnryan with a comfort stop en-route before joining the afternoon ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
