With its miles and miles of sandy, unspoilt, rugged coastline and golden sandy beaches, you’ll be captivated by the scenery when you stay in the west coast of Scotland. Staying at the Riverside Lodge Hotel, located on the outskirts of Irvine and within 1 mile of the sea. Based in the coastal town of Irvine this tour combines beautiful coastal drives along the Ayrshire coastline, with full days out exploring the Isle of Arran, Scotland’s 7^th largest island with entry into Brodick Castle and Gardens and then onto Bute where a visit to the opulent Mount Stuart awaits. Enjoy the coastal views with a visit to Alloway the birthplace of Robert Burns and onto Turnberry home of the famous golf course and its luxury resort.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point and travel to Belfast Port to join the ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Cairnryan we make are way to our hotel in Irvine with a comfort stop en-route. On arrival at the Riverside Lodge Hotel, check-in, relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

Today after breakfast join your coach for a morning drive along the Firth of Clyde taking us to Wemys Bay, where you join the ferry over to Rothesay, with free time to roam around, on what used to be, a fashionable Victorian resort, with its gardens, shoreline walks and pleasant eateries. Later, the day continues with a tour of the island, which is 15 miles long and 4 miles wide, passing Ettrick Bay with 1-mile golden sand, Scalpsie Bay and finally entry into what is probably the most flamboyant great house in the UK – Mount Stuart. Time to stroll the labyrinth of rooms as well as taking in the fine scenery from the well laid out and expansive gardens which cover over 300 acres. Afterwards re-join your coach for the return journey back to Irvine in time for dinner.

DAY 3

After a leisurely breakfast enjoy the morning to explore the local area. In the Afternoon we will take a coastal drive of Ayrshire. Starting with visiting Ayr before heading to the pretty village Alloway with time to wander the home of Scotland’s most famous poet – Rabbie Burns. Heading south along the coast, take in the sea views across the Firth to Arran. Experience the mysterious Electric Brae as you pass Culzean Castle. 5 miles south, stop for photos at the famous Trump Turnberry Hotel and Ailsa Craig Island before returning to our hotel to relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 4

This morning after breakfast join your coach as we travel to board the morning ferry got the 45 mins crossing to Arran known as ‘Scotland in Miniature’. First stop is Baronial Brodick Castle and Gardens overlooking the Firth of Clyde and has recently re-opened after a £1.5m restoration. Free time in Brodick before a scenic tour around the island taking in the sea views over to Kintyre and south towards Ailsa Craig or ‘Paddy’s Milestone’.

DAY 5

This morning after a leisurely breakfast and checking out, we make our journey back to Cairnryan with a comfort stop en-route before joining the afternoon crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
