Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Scarborough Join your coach at your chosen departure point as we travel to Belfast for the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Scotland, we continue south through picturesque countryside towards the Yorkshire coast, making a comfort stop along the way.

We arrive in the charming seaside resort of Scarborough in the late afternoon, where you’ll check in to the elegant Crown Spa Hotel. Take time to settle into your room, take a walk along the beachfront and unwind before enjoying your first dinner at the hotel, marking the start of your relaxing Yorkshire coastal holiday.

Day 2: Whitby & Captain Cook Country Following breakfast, join your coach as we travel through the stunning scenery of the North York Moors to the historic fishing port of Whitby, one of Yorkshire’s most captivating seaside towns. Overlooked by the dramatic ruins of Whitby Abbey, the town is famed for its bustling harbour, cobbled streets and rich maritime heritage.

No visit to Whitby would be complete without sampling its world-famous fish and chips. With its bustling harbour and rich fishing heritage, the town is celebrated for serving some of the finest seafood in Britain. During your free time, why not treat yourself to a delicious lunch at one of Whitby’s traditional fish and chip restaurants, many of which enjoy picturesque views of the harbour? Afterwards, take time to wander the charming, cobbled streets, browse the independent shops, soak up the unique atmosphere of this historic seaside town, and climb the famous 199 Steps for spectacular views.  You may also wish to visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum (payable locally), located in the house where the young explorer once lived and learnt his seafaring trade.

This afternoon, we continue through the beautiful landscapes of Captain Cook Country, following scenic routes that celebrate the early life of Britain’s legendary explorer. Our journey includes a visit to the charming market town of Guisborough, where you’ll have time to wander through its historic streets, browse the local shops or relax with refreshments before returning to Scarborough.

A wonderful combination of breathtaking coastal scenery, fascinating history and traditional Yorkshire charm will make this excursion one of the highlights of your holiday.

Day 3: Day at Leisure in Scarborough and visit Scarborough Castle After breakfast, enjoy the day at leisure to discover the many attractions of Scarborough, one of Britain’s favourite seaside resorts. Whether you prefer a stroll along the sweeping South Bay promenade, browsing the town’s shops, or simply relaxing by the sea, there’s plenty to enjoy.

Firstly, we will visit Scarborough Castle, perched dramatically on a rocky headland between Scarborough’s North and South Bays. It is one of England’s most impressive coastal fortresses. With over 3,000 years of history, the site has witnessed everything from Iron Age settlements and Roman signal stations to medieval kings and Civil War sieges.  Today, visitors can explore the impressive castle ruins, walk along the ancient walls and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the Yorkshire coastline and the North Sea. Rich in history and natural beauty, Scarborough Castle is one of the town’s most iconic landmarks and a must-visit attraction for anyone exploring the Yorkshire coast.

After a relaxing day exploring at your own pace, return to the hotel this evening to enjoy dinner and reflect on another memorable day on the Yorkshire coast.

Day 4: Homeward Journey After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to Scarborough. Following check-out (departure time will be confirmed by your Tour Manager), we board our coach and begin the journey to Cairnryan, making a comfort stop along the way.

We then board the evening ferry for the crossing to Belfast. On arrival, we continue by coach to your original joining point, bringing to a close a memorable holiday on the beautiful Yorkshire coast.
