Set in the heart of the charming seaside town of Enniscrone, County Sligo, the 4* Ocean Sands Hotel enjoys an elevated position overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and is just moments from 5km of golden sandy beach. Guests can take in spectacular views of Killala Bay, Enniscrone Pier, and the Valley of Diamonds, with the hotel's dinner package offering the perfect setting to enjoy the stunning coastal scenery from the back garden. The hotel is just a five-minute walk from Enniscrone's championship links golf course, designed by Eddie Hackett, with several other renowned courses nearby. Itinerary
Day 1: Journey to Donegal Town Board your coach at your designated pick-up point and travel west in comfort. En route, we’ll stop in Donegal Town where you’ll have free time to explore and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, we continue to Enniscrone, arriving at the Ocean Sands Hotel in the late afternoon. After check-in, take some time to relax and freshen up before dinner.
Day 2: Foxford Woollen Mills and Sligo After breakfast (departure time to be confirmed by your tour manager), we set off for a visit to Foxford Woollen Mills, a renowned working mill founded in 1892 and located on the banks of the River Moy. One of the last working woollen mills in Ireland, it continues to produce high-quality goods today. Enjoy a guided tour and time to browse the shop and cafe.
We then continue by coach to Sligo Town, where you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace and grab some lunch or coffee. Later, we’ll rejoin the coach (time and meeting point to be confirmed by your tour manager) and return to the hotel in Enniscrone, with time to relax and freshen up before dinner.
Day 3: Wild Atlantic Way and Westport This morning, after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), depart to explore the breath-taking Wild Atlantic Way en route to Westport. Sit back and enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery and ever-changing views along this iconic drive.
On arrival in Westport, you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at your leisure. The town is well known for its excellent food, so take the opportunity to relax in a cosy cafe or traditional pub.
Afterwards, spend time exploring Westport, widely regarded as one of Ireland’s most charming towns. Take a stroll along The Mall, a beautiful tree-lined river walk, or wander through the colourful streets, quaint bridges, and independent shops. You may also wish to stop for a coffee or perhaps a pint in one of the town’s welcoming pubs. Take your time, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy the town at your own pace.
In the late afternoon, rejoin your coach (departure time and location will be confirmed by your tour manager) for the return journey to your hotel in Enniscrone.
Day 4: Galway and Knock After breakfast, depart for the vibrant city of Galway, where you’ll enjoy a fascinating 2-hour guided tour by both coach and on foot. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, discover the rich history, colourful culture, and unique character of the medieval “City of the Tribes.” Hear captivating stories and local anecdotes as you explore the city’s historic streets and landmarks.
Following the tour, you’ll have free time to experience Galway at your own pace. Wander through the lively Latin Quarter, browse the independent shops and boutiques, relax in one of the city’s welcoming pubs or cafés, or treat yourself to delicious homemade ice cream while enjoying views across Galway Bay.
Later this afternoon, we begin our return journey to Enniscrone, making a stop in the famous pilgrimage village of Knock. Simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the village before continuing to the hotel. Arrive back with time to relax before this evening’s dinner.
Day 5: Departure via Enniskillen After breakfast, check out of your hotel (departure time to be confirmed by your tour manager) and board the coach for your journey home. We’ll travel via Enniskillen, where you’ll have some free time to explore.
Afterwards, rejoin the coach and continue your journey back to your original pick-up point, arriving in the early evening.
